Part of the joy of Lynch was that he delighted in not letting the audience understand it. It's why "(laughs, does not answer)" and "elaborate on that" "no" became memes. He knew how to create memorable images and leave greater narratives aside.
If you’re planning on watching any Lynch, my advice is: don’t watch any analysis videos, don’t think about what stuff is “supposed” to mean, just get your own unique experience from it!!
