Aston Villa’s Goal of the Month contest for August, cancelled because we scored no goals, has more footballing credibility than the FIFA peace prize for Trump.

The people who get angry at Alan Rickman in ‘Love Actually’ simply have to understand that the slutty secretary is just miles hotter than Emma Thompson. Once you understand that, your anger dissipates.

It sure looks like Russian intelligence attempted to use military drones to assassinate the President of Ukraine inside an EU country.

Looking forward to more thoughts from Belgium on why freezing Russian assets is an escalatory move that might compromise the peace process.

Rather than apologising for his antisemitism, Farage demands the BBC apologise for the antisemitism of Alf Garnett, a fictional character created to satirise antisemitism, who was portrayed by a Jewish man.

Farage denies being racist, then says he said things playfully, then he says he wasn’t intentionally racist, then he says it was 40 years ago and is now comparing what he said to racist TV of the 1970s.
No one should be in any doubt that he is a horrible human being who has no place in our society.

Pleased to discover that slightly misnaming the national chess championship you won as a school child is a much more serious offence than repeatedly racially abusing your fellow pupils and telling them they should go to the gas chamber

This is how Chris Mason, like a child filled with wonder, described "the choreography and theatre that surrounds a Budget" in Feb 2024, when a male Tory Chancellor was in post.

"Plans, or even just options, can be floated... Reaction to them can be tested. Opponents can be teased or wrongfooted." 👀

Q: You said that second strike was in accordance with the law of armed conflict, but the Navy's own manual says that firing on survivors from a wrecked vessel is an example of a war crime

LEAVITT: I would reiterate that the strike was conducted in accordance with the law of armed conflict

I must have missed the wall-to-wall coverage of demands for an investigation into Nigel Farage's lies about being a racist

Or about whether he knew Nathan Gill

Or about who bought his house in Frinton

When I worked for Obama, I advised him on how to talk to Russian leaders. I never gave the Kremlin advice on how to talk to Obama (and I talked to Ushakov many times!).

“Did Nathan Gill ever say anything you disagree with in return for his bribes from a Kremlin stooge?”

“Did you, in your roles as his boss, friend, mentor & party leader, ever question his full-throated support for an enemy of the UK and if not, why not?”

You can have those for nothing, lads.

Bitcoin now consuming as much energy as the entire country of Pakistan.

That seems bad.
The people at CBECI were kind enough to send me a copy of their updated Bitcoin power consumption data

At the end of 2024, Bitcoin's total consumption for 2024 *did* end up matching that of Pakistan. 2024 saw the biggest jump in power consumption ever. Absolutely wild stuff ->
