I'm not convinced we need to imagine higher-order planning, even higher-order selfishness like "what path lets us keep insider-trading once Pelosi is gone?" Just imagine one kid calling up one senator like "Daddy my private Thanksgiving jet might be late" and that's it, shutdown over.

Need to update my blog and post about a couple of new stories out now but I spent today writing instead. And bottom-watering the plants with mosquito dunks water because of these tiny sent from the pit of hell gnats. Anyway, I need a publicist! Or something! At least I'm getting published!

Good literary translation requires understanding (language, culture, genre--on both sides of the translation) and an ability to write well. "AI" can't do that. There are no shortcuts. Treat your work and foreign language readers with the respect they deserve. You won't fool anyone with this.
