One of those curated single malt whisky advent calendars, oh yes 😋
everything is bonkers right now and we need a timeline cleanse. let’s play a game. if I handed you a blank check but you could ONLY spend it on an Advent calendar, what absurdly pricy collection of little treats are you buying yourself?

Beyond fed up with how MPs have leapt on the chance to turn a transphobic murder into something to do with children's access to mobile phones, completely washing their hands of the transphobic radicalisation of adults that has driven this hate.

HELLO the "israeli" government is passing a bill that allows them to execute "terrorists" in prison.
they see EVERY PALESTINIAN or brown person as a "terrorist"
they are going to round people up, put them in camps and kill them.
we need to be louder about this.

It saddens me *so* much that tech giants and governments are trying to take this "becoming" away from children and adolescents, my son included. Being reclusive by nature, I'm also not mega thrilled about having to be seen as a crank whenever I bring up how AI should be nowhere near education.
At risk of flogging a dead horse: this whole letter is a reminder that the creative process is an end in and of itself, and vital to self-actualisation. You can’t experience BECOMING, as he puts it, by outsourcing it to ChatGPT.
In 2006 a high school English teacher asked students to write to a famous author & ask for advice.
KURT VONNEGUT - born 103yrs ago today - was the only one to respond.
His reply was a doozy.

AI usually means Arseholes Involved. It’s a thieving, hollowing and unethical beast of a thing. It has no place in an ethical, decent society. It has no place in Hookland and never will.

never let them convince you that reading is a waste of time or that reading physical books is replaceable. Physical books, zines, etc -- these are spaces where we cannot be monitored, where we can truly be w/our own thoughts for a gd min & make up our own minds. Of course that frightens them
lmao this is the headline of someone who hasn't read a book in years

I am hearing there’s a political campaign against the BBC by cynical liars and frauds who don’t care what’s real and only want to destroy it, and I can say: LOL too bad lads, you could not possibly more deserve to get wrecked by the wingnuts and cranks you were once so happy to promote.

Messaging aside, maybe voters just don't *like* going to prison for peaceful protest? Or being pushed into poverty by continuing austerity measures targeting the most vulnerable in society while watching MPs line their own pockets with lobbying cash? 1/?

Now, in one of the richest countries on earth, millions more children are being pushed into the same struggle. Not by accident but by policy.

109 kids are falling into poverty every day because of the two-child limit.
The government must scrap it for all children.
