I had a long talk with someone yesterday about how all prior logic and norms about the labor market have been called off because capital is in the final push to finally casualize white collar workers the way they’ve long wanted to do. From AI to non-competes to this. They smell blood in the water.

None of this kind of stuff is new (i.e. censorship in schools), but AI basically turbo-charges it and allows people to build ever more wide-ranging and intrusive panopticons.
“School officials have created a Microsoft Copilot prompt to review course descriptions with an eye toward avoiding ‘advocacy-oriented or prescriptive terms.’”

Terms: “dismantling, decolonizing, interrogating, challenging, centering, combating, liberation, resistance, activism, justice oriented”

A few important points here

- Generative AI supercharged data centre growth: lobbyist and substacker lines pretending like this is just streaming are false

- Even when you consider much of the projected growth is speculative, the *likely* projects are still MASSIVE

In Lebanon. Can hear the Israeli drone constantly now. I’ve only been back for a day but folks here deal with it 24/7, for months. It’s psychological torture. You can even see it, just flying around. The Israelis want to let everyone know that they can kill whoever they want whenever they want.

A robot is only an OTA away from a behavior change, good, bad, or weird.

Waymo robots have always violated some traffic laws. For >year they have been getting noticeably more aggressive as I've shown in a variety of videos. Apparently, on purpose per Ludwick who's been on this project for 15 years.
“They’re bending traffic laws, getting impatient with pedestrians and embracing the idea that when it comes to city driving, politeness doesn’t pay… Waymo has been trying to make its cars “confidently assertive,” says Chris Ludwick, a senior director of product management with Waymo”
Self-driving Waymo cars are suddenly driving way mo like “an aggressive, New York taxi driver.”

An issue we're seeing at all levels of university is that many students are simply refusing to do *anything*. They aren't reading the syllabus, aren't following assignment guidelines, aren't engaging with material, ignoring deadlines. And this might seem like old news, but it truly has ramped up.

Slowly turning into a rabid positivist, but specifically for things like vaccines, antibiotics, and medically assisted births. Lots of subjectivity (and bad medicine) out there, but if you advocate for anti-vaxx or wild births or whatever, you at minimum should get banned from all social media.
