Bluesky tonight is neatly divided between trans people and family members appropriately angry and freaking out and everyone else who has barely noticed.

ProPublica spoke to about 150 people who had lived in homeless encampments when cities cleared them out in “sweeps.”

We distributed notecards so people could tell us about the toll in their own words.

"Tear gas is banned in international warfare, but it is classified as a 'riot control agent' that law enforcement can use for crowd control."
Tear gas can cause long-term health consequences by making people more susceptible to contracting respiratory illnesses, including COVID.

The chemical agent can also hurt people inside their homes if it seeps into residential neighborhoods. What you need to know (published 2020):
Tear Gas Is Way More Dangerous Than Police Let On
In the middle of a respiratory pandemic, law enforcement agencies have used tear gas in especially dangerous ways. The chemical agent also seeps into homes, contaminates food, furniture, skin and…

Johnathan Joss died a hero. He was murdered for being gay, he went out protecting his trans husband from being executed. They burned down their home and killed their pets and then they murdered Joss while trying to murder his husband. The New York times can barely muster "fatally shot." I hate this.

When I landed in SLC, I used the bathroom despite an anti-trans bathroom ban.

Nobody cared. Nobody ever does.

The truth is, whatever anti-trans laws they keep passing, nobody actually gives a damn or wants to be the bathroom police.

This is the ultimate reason anti-trans hysteria will fail.

Reminder: Our Social Security cards don’t have our gender marker but our SSA personnel records do, so it is something trans folks either need to take care of or at least verify that it’s correct.

We shouldn’t have to be stressing out but it’s the card we’re dealt.
