"...the sales tax exemption for data centers accounted for $2.73 billion of the tax savings..."

A multi-trillion-dollar industry doesn't need our tax dollars to incentivize it to do $#!+. That's money we need to fix roads and feed kids, not subsidize corporate greed.

On the one hand, neutral data collected and analyzed academically and presented as unbiased and factual is how things are supposed to work.

On the other hand, a group of uninsured people serving as an accidental "control group" and then dying is just effed up.

The surprisingly tricky question stumped researchers for decades. But they think they finally have an answer.

One other thing: No matter what happens with the final vote count, this race is going to be near the top of the list for both parties in 2027: one on defense, one on offense.

There are a *lot* of JMU alumni on both sides of the aisle in VA gov't, including the Senate majority and minority leaders.
For #Virginia election watchers: post-election (PE) absentee mail-in ballots (ballots that were postmarked by Election Day and arrived at elections offices by noon today) and provisional ballots are now being tallied.

Race to watch is #HD34: City of Harrisonburg (JMU) + Rockingham County.

Some people might think that the 13 Democrats who flipped seats in the Virginia House of Delegates Red to Blue might not have staying power and will just be washed out when the pendulum swings back.
Let’s look at the Class of ’17, when we flipped 15 seats Red to Blue + held an open Democratic seat.🧵

Attacking constituents is a losing strategy, and a lot of Republicans learned that the hard way this week.

The Republican hate speech towards trans kids was never a winning strategy - and it never will be. Maybe it’s time to try something radical, like focusing on real issues: traffic, infrastructure, cost of living, and making sure every kid gets fed at school, no matter what.

I just got back home from Governor-elect Spanberger's party in Richmond. A few things:
1) Emerge Virginia had a banner night. EVA alumnae flipped the Governor's seat and 8 House of Delegates seats Red to Blue, retained all 17 of HoD incumbents and swept all six local races where they ran. 🧵

Shoutout to my constituent who pulled up to Unity Reed HS in Manassas, turned up “Sweet Leaf” by Black Sabbath loud enough for me to hear it while handing out Election Day lit, waited to pick someone up and then headed out to “Snowblind.” Ozzy forever. 🦇 🤘 #MetalSky #Virginia

Today’s the first Election Day in the odd-number year I haven’t been on a ballot since 2015. Can‘t even begin to express enough gratitude to the voters of SD-30 for electing me to a four-year term in 2023. Sincerely. Winning four battleground campaigns in six years is necessary but exhausting work.

A disclaimer for Democrats watching the #Virginia election tomorrow I repeat annually:

Don't freak out when the first trickle of results come in. The first results are almost always super Republican. They're from areas with smaller populations.
