Crazy how Trump's lawyers have never seen anything Trump has ever said or done.
Judge Menendez asks about Trump's quote: "Your day of retribution is here." She asks what she's supposed to do with that.

It is not an exaggeration at all - at all - to compare this to how segregationist terrorists would murder peaceful civil rights activists and then their political and civilian allies would immediately laugh about it.

It’s the exact same moral and policy cadence

It’s hard to accurately describe what is happening in Minneapolis without sounding crazy.

Unmarked rental vans all over the city, with people in military gear and no id jumping out of them to take captive anyone who looks nonwhite or who makes political speech they disagree with.

This is so profoundly horrifying on so many levels. I don't even know what to think or to say about the agent not even devoting his full attention or both hands to threatening to shoot and then actually shooting this woman in the face.
We've analysed this video of the shooting of Renee Nicole Good yesterday in Minneapolis frame-by-frame to highlight the positioning of the gun and phone in the ICE agent's hands.

One notices that Hegseth avoids quoting what Kelly actually said in the video. Because the video he’s calling “seditious” basically reiterated the enlistment oath to support and defend the Constitution.
The Pentagon will cut the military retirement pay of Sen. Mark Kelly for what Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth called the Arizona Democrat’s “seditious” statements on a video telling service members they have the right to refuse to execute illegal orders.

An aspect of the GOP agenda is that blowback from blue states serves their anti-government ideology just as well as the current political retribution against blue states.

They don’t care about economic pain in the Deep South, especially when they’re out of office. It stokes the grievance cycle.
It's becoming difficult to hide that a major purpose of the Trump administration is siphoning tax revenues from Blue states and redirecting them into subsidies for Red states. At what point does this become intolerable?

Now that summer is over, Chicago is still on track to have fewer homicides in 2025 than almost any other year since 2001. This is especially impressive considering that the five most violent years of the 21st century have all been in the past decade.
