Another thing I think about semifrequently is that the surviving works of pre-modern literature were written by the very rich who did not actually reflect the average person of their time. Almost like if our civilization was represented by elongated muskrat’s tweets.
One thing I don’t like very much is when folks go “ancient/medieval people were NOTHING like us” and then they list a whole ton of negative character traits that are very much alive in the modern day.

Says a lot about this culture that "hold hands and sing kumbaya" has become an idiom to call someone naïve or idealistic, when the song itself is a literal cry for divine intervention in the face of the increasing certainty that nothing else will bring about the change the singer desperately needs.

Good time to remind people what a journalist is/isn't. A journalist:
- has to do reporting of some kind (data, archival, source-based)
- has to fact-check that reporting
- is held to a higher legal standard than op-eds, essayists, commentators (generally can't share an opinion w/o documentation)

My MacBook just crashed randomly and in the error log it refers to the cause as "panic".
Not like "critical error" or "illegal operation" like on Windows and stuff.
Just "Panic".

I can personally attest to one family in Florida that has gone from "uncle is voting trump, rest are probably sitting it out" to "every last one of you fuckers is getting in the car next Tuesday morning to come vote against that pendejo"
i can attest to at least one puerto rican voter in pennsylvania who was not planning to vote and now intends to vote for harris as a result of last night’s display

As a game consultant myself, I can say that the idea that consultants are forcing diversity into games is ridiculous. 99% of the time the devs have already decided they want their game to be inclusive, and just want help fine-tuning how certain stories come across
