New from me: The notion that Charlie Kirk represented speech “done right” is a smokescreen manufactured specifically to distract from the single greatest attack on free speech in the 21st century. Kirk wasn’t simply offering an opinion, he was right-wing power personified.
Charlie Kirk and the Free Speech Hoax
The Right doesn't really care about free speech, and their reaction to the murder of Charlie Kirk proves it.

There is no excuse for Finkelstein doing this. Nothing defensible. And even if you completely separated everything he said from what Owen’s did, he still relied on conspiracy theories and negative stereotypes about Jews. In 2025, we don’t need any of this to talk about Israel.
Norman Finkelstein, the fuck is wrong with you?

This is the second time he's gone on Candace Owens' show, and look how she frames the interview in her tweet.

Teen Vogue's closure isn't a sign of what’s to come in media, but a reminder of the crisis already here
"Young people, specifically young women, are disregarded by those in power. Teen Vogue was a place where they not only felt empowered, but were encouraged to do so" – writes Taylor Crumpton.

David seems to also somehow blame this on Rose City Antifa, which he had done a half dozen times, a group that never in their entire history ever mentioned Rovics once. (Also I’m to blame somehow)
In some good news - Jewish Voices for Peace Vermont/NH cancelled a David Rovics gig because of his transphobia and platforming of fascists.

New from me: let’s disrupt the notion that Kirk was just a guy with an opinion: he was a poised and well funded part of the GOP’s political machinery to win power and suppress your rights, including your access to free speech, which they are currently doing in Kirk’s name.
The notion that Kirk was simply a conservative misunderstands why he entered public debates—and why they worked as political theater.
