They're enabling creepy lonely men to create submissive "AI companions" that can be modeled on whatever real-life woman they're obsessed with and made to do whatever they want and, Jesus Christ, I need to wash my hands just typing that.
"And I never say no"

We need to have a serious talk about the way "AI companion" apps not only prey on the vulnerable, but are priming their users to ignore consent and to conflate love with control.

We need AI regulations across so many sectors, but this area is particularly horrifying.

In practice arguing for gender as a construct while not fully pushing sex as changeable has led to cis people, conservative and liberal, seeing sex as set in stone truth and gender as either fake gay shit to hate or fake gay shit to be polite about that doesn't actually change one's preconceptions

look i'm not an "impeach the cheeto!!!!" guy but if this is in fact what happened I'm not really sure what other political response is more prudent
The White House has been caught.

The administration inserted a photo of Bill Clinton, Michael Jackson, and Diana Ross into the Epstein files and falsely implied it showed them with victims.

In reality, it’s a publicly available fundraiser photo featuring Jackson and Ross’s own children.

Translation is a human art. The translator is an artist. Only a human with working knowledge of how the two languages work can do it. AI can approximate the words of the original in another language, but it can't make it readable & beautiful in another language.
French publishing house Harlequin decided to use AI translation instead of human translations.

All their freelance translators (some of whom had been working with Harlequin for +30y!!!) were told they would no longer receive work from Harlequin

Called it, this guy is bad news. Way worse than Bongino. Possibly worse than Kash himself.
New FBI Deputy Director just dropped. He’s the former Missouri AG.

This guy used Missouri taxpayer money to sue Starbucks for harming white men, China for not sending masks during Covid even though he said Covid was a hoax, and who fought to execute a man who was found innocent of any crime.

Although his penmanship remains an issue, Maxwell was very enthusiastic and applied himself this week. He is a joy to have in class!
This was the official objection, from Maxwell Rice, a former Republican candidate for #IL09, who filed objections to several candidates this cycle

The hearing was this morning at 9 a.m.

the McCartney song is irritating, but the worst song ever recorded is actually “God Bless the USA” by Lee Greenwood
I put it to you that Paul McCartney’s “Wonderful Christmastime” is not merely the worst Christmas song but is also in fact the worst song in the history of recorded sound.

wrong about the movie and wrong about dano
Quentin Tarantino says 'There Will Be Blood' had a chance to be his greatest film of the 21st century if it didnt have Paul Dano in it

"it’s supposed to be a two-hander, but ... [Dano] is weak sauce, man ... He’s just such a weak, weak, uninteresting guy. The weakest fucking actor in SAG [laughs]"

87% of executives sitting at their desk writing prompts like "a picture of my wife coming back with the kids"
A study by Dayforce shows 87% of executives use AI for work, compared to 57% of managers and just 27% of employees.

I think this explains the massive disconnect we see in how CEOs talk about AI versus everyone else. It also raises the question of how useful it truly is for frontline work?
Execs are embracing AI more than their employees are, new research suggests
