His narration is probably the best example of its kind ever. The opening scene in the deserted french village remains as quietly powerful as the first time you hear it, even after the twentieth viewing.

And here is a not very well known, but incredible, composer. Ture Rangström (1884-1947), a Swedish composer, influenced by the music of Bruckner. His symphonic poem (dithyramb) and his 4 symphonies are incredible.

George Eastham dies. #NUFC player inthe 1960s. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/footba... His attempt to leave Newcastle resulted in more freedom of contract for players. Perhaps an early indication the club didn't have the vision and ambition needed to keep up with other clubs during the 60s 70s and 80s.....

Quantum pioneer Niels Bohr was known as brilliant, soft-spoken, and absent-minded.

Once, during a lecture, he wanted to dim the lights. He pressed the wrong button, and the platform on which he was standing lowered until he sank beneath the stage.

Nonetheless, he kept talking!

Not just evangelicals. American Catholics seem to have a bitter hatred of Pope Francis. His only crime seems to be an interest in the teachings of Jesus. This apparently makes him a socialist.
Most Christians celebrate Jesus mainly for his birth and death, and gloss over the insignificant period between them known as "his entire life".
