In 1934, Dudley Nichols co-wrote Frontier Marshal, based on Wyatt Earp's bio, starring George O'Brien. Nichols then wrote The Arizonian, also based on the Stuart Lake book, but w/o crediting him. The Arizonian was remade, w/o crediting Nichols, as The Marshal of Mesa City, starring George O'Brien

The Arizonian (1935) is an unofficial Wyatt Earp film & it has one of the more artistic takes on "the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral":
The Arizonian (1935), directed by Charles Vidor, written by Dudley Nichols

The Marshal of Mesa City (1939), directed by David Howard, written by Jack Lait Jr.
