we already have a working examples of robots replacing human workers in several industries and they look like this.

there are several reasons why companies feel the need to make anthropomorphic robots but easily replacing human labor ain’t one of them

I really hate it when scientists keep saying that “we need to rebuild trust in science,” because it implies that scientists are to blame for the mistrust rather than the millions of dollars of dark money that have funded political attacks on science in order to advance a far right agenda.

Deep State alums unloading the clip, apparently
Yesterday, Trump defended the Saudi Crown Prince in the Oval Office.

He said he had “nothing” to do with the murder of Jamal Khashoggi.

But I reviewed a call while serving on Trump’s NSC that I believe would be of interest to the Khashoggi family and the American people.

Release the transcript.

imagine any other US president in american history calling the american people a bunch of unemployed, uneducated, ignorant boobs who don't even know what a computer chip is, and insisting that they'll need to be educated by the taiwanese to work in US-based, taiwanese-owned factories
Trump: "You can't come in, open up a massive computer chip factory…and think you're going to hire people off an unemployment line to run it. They're going to have to bring thousands of people with them, and I'm going to welcome those people."

Where are the learning loss people? It’s hard to learn at school if you’re afraid to go because the secret police might kidnap you.
Charlotte-Mecklebburg Schools, according to reports, saw 15% of its students absent today amid Border Patrol operations in Charlotte. If that percentage of 15% happens Tuesday in Wake County due to the Border Patrol coming to Raleigh, 24.000 students could be absent from school. #nced #ncpol #wcpss

While I hope exposing the president and anyone else in the files will allow us to clean house a bit (although I doubt it). I am shocked at the current debate on the house floor. This is a new low in terms of dignity for the republicans.

I wish I could take this. Been a fan of his ever since a talk at RPI where an answer to someone not liking the implications of some physics was "the universe doesn't exist to make you happy"
First day of my Philosophy of Cosmology class! I'm interpreting "cosmology" pretty broadly. There will be three main topics: 1) Anthropics and the multiverse; 2) The arrow of time; 3) Quantum foundations, especially Many-Worlds. The idea of self-locating uncertainties will be a common thread.

This is one of the grossest things he's ever done, and that's a goddamn competitive category.
Trump suggests Khashoggi had it coming: "You're mentioning someone that was extremely controversial. A lot of people didn't like that gentleman that you're talking about. Whether you like him or didn't like him, things happen. But he knew nothing about it. You don't have to embarrass our guest."

I mean, so Nunzi likes dating people 30+ years older, I mean, I think it's weird and a little creepy, but am I missing a part where it gets more gross? And if so, do I want to know?
