Yes the "liberal" press could take an interest in this one but the UK has no mainstream news outlet that isn’t extremely antitrans and thrilled to publish any lies in service of that agenda
At one point, the right wing press printed a story that 1000+ families were part of a law suit over Tavistock referrals for puberty blockers.
The only slight problem was that at that point, there hadn't even been a thousand kids referred.

What pisses me off more than anything is that Esther Ghey does not at all get, or speak for, the trans community. But she gets the microphone and what she does with it hurts her daughters community
Very convenient to be able to shove the transphobia that got this girl killed under the carpet and blame phones instead and be able to deny any criticism like that

I am extremely disappointed that Charlotte Nichols MP continues to promote this frivolous and pointless campaign, rather than addressing the transphobia that actually led to Brianna Ghey being murdered.
On Brianna's 19th birthday, this morning I joined @cheshirepcc.bsky.social and the Brianna Ghey Legacy Project Phone Free Education campaign at the launch at Jodrell Bank of a new £150k initiative to make Cheshire the first county in the UK where ALL state high schools have lockable phone pouches.

Agreed. I know my parents love me. That doesn't mean they always prioritised my wellbeing or welfare. They did not and do not understand me. The idea that parents always know best and mean well is a joke amongst LGBTQ people.

It's not at all bizarre to have fellow trans folks recognising the behaviour of someone who is failing to respect her daughter in death, seeing as a lot of us have lived it.
