What does this have to do with rampant societal, political & media transphobia? Taking away my kids phone, smart or not, wouldnt have protected her. Taking away her bullies' phones, smart or not, wouldnt have stopped the transphobic radicalisation they absorb from news/tv/radio/govt

Agreed. I know my parents love me. That doesn't mean they always prioritised my wellbeing or welfare. They did not and do not understand me. The idea that parents always know best and mean well is a joke amongst LGBTQ people.
