Hello, new social media platform! It's a clean slate for my academic chatter: vet epidemiology, data science, statistics, education, and data ethics. Non-academic chatter may include movies, games, Lego, autism, and calls to dismantle capitalism. Most importantly, I might post pictures of my dog.
Journal editors actually emailing requests for unpaid labour at 9.13pm on the 18th of December, demanding a two week turnaround, and then sending a follow-up saying "you haven't responded yet" literally 72 minutes later.

Surprised Pikachu face that they can't find reviewers. FIX THIS BROKEN SYSTEM

MPs laughed when Jake Richards dismissed Jeremy Corbyn’s request for a meeting on the Palestine Action hunger strikers.

Laughed.

This is who we’re governed by, people entrusted to represent a nation, yet so insulated by power they respond to human suffering with indifference and mockery.

This is a painful misunderstanding of probability and LLMs. I cannot believe that people would be so ignorant. This undoubtedly would result in very bad things.

Just really awesome how our financial elite just spent the last several decades admonishing people for pursing the humanities and creative fields, and are now suddenly pedaling the idea that "there are no good ideas anymore" after spending the last 5 years laying off everybody with a brain

America, you've spoken loud and clear: you do not like being stabbed in the dick with an ice pick. But what if stabbing yourself in the dick with an ice pick is the only way to fight, idk, climate change or whatever?

I don't care if you disagree, it just means you haven't been targeted by them yet.

Wes Streeting did not offer covid or flu boosters to everyone who wanted one

Wes Streeting did not care enough to ensure clean indoor air in schools, workplaces, hospitality

Both would have brought down cases significantly

We have to be learning from the powerful solidarity & resistance methods of our cousins across the pond, & fast.

Waiting for the stats on the votes to enshrine gay rights, women's rights, or black/brown rights....

Oh, wait.
They didn't vote on them, they were taken for granted.

Kind of makes this look fucking offensive doesn't it.
As does the large numbers voting against it. That's a lot of transphobes.
🚨 BREAKING | Your Party has voted to enshrine trans rights into the party's founding policy documents.

Two motions, which both passed with a supermajority (with 10,000+ people voting) committed the new party to explicitly supporting "trans liberation".
