The reason we are where we are is because for 20 years, the Democrats accepted as true the lies told by the Republicans about immigrants, thus validating falsehoods and undermining the truth, making reasoned debate and compromise impossible.

What Jeffries did here should be taboo.
Jeffries: "The border is secure. That's a good thing. It happened on his watch. He wants to claim credit for it, of course he'll get credit for that. In terms of making sure that we actually deal with the issues that matter, including on immigration, there's a lot that's left to be desired."

If we're not at war, Pete Hegseth is a murderer. If we are at war, Pete Hegseth is still a murderer. He's a murderer. And you don't need to go to The Hague to hold him accountable because there are perfectly good, American laws AGAINST MURDER.

Pete Hegseth Should Be Charged With Murder
No matter how you look at the strikes on alleged “drug boats”—as acts of war or attacks on civilians—Hegseth has committed a crime and should be prosecuted.

The NY Times said Trump labeling Somalis as “garbage” was “shocking in its unapologetic bigotry.” Then NYT put the story on Page 13. When Trump called for “termination” of the Constitution in 2022, NYT put it on Page 13, too. In case you wonder if NYT has learned anything in the last 3 years. 1/🧵

Today: The White House confirms that a 2nd strike happened and that “Secretary Hegseth authorized Admiral Bradley to conduct these kinetic strikes”

This paragraph was written by Gunter Grass. He was looking back at the 1930s from the perspective of 1983. We will do the same some day and come to a similar conclusion about Trump.

A grave historical mistake that the leaders of the Confederacy were not tried and hanged.
"Western civilization," the font, the 11 stars - 11 states in the confederacy, for the record.

Why is this never news? Why are we letting our government agencies do this sort of thing while the news agencies report on hallucinated trade deals and act like everything is normal

The reality, of course, is that Miller and a significant portion of Trump’s base are the ones who failed to assimilate to America’s post-WWII culture of multi-racial democracy & religious pluralism…and they are now using their power to destroy that once dominant (and still popular) American culture.
Stephen Miller is now arguing that assimilation is fundamentally impossible and that certain cultures are not compatible with Western civilization

By the way, note that the description of Biden as being "in obvious mental decline" was left in the speech, while the description of Trump as the "most openly corrupt president in American history" was removed:
Note that the BBC openly admits in an email to me that the removal of this claim about Trump's world-historical corruption was done "on legal advice."

Translation: Trump's threat of a lawsuit, no matter how bogus, has now been rewarded.

There are going to be prominent Democrats and mainstream media voices who insist that we have to "turn the page" and "forgive and forget" and they should all be roundly ignored, if not mercilessly mocked.
It’s crazy to think about the crimes we’re going to learn about after this regime ends.

We’re already hearing about Watergate level crimes every week. Imagine what will come out after it’s over.

We’re going to need a full accounting of all that’s been done in violation of the constitution.

There’s a moment in the classic film “Paths of Glory” in which an artillery officer, told to commit a war crime, asks for the order in writing.

That is happening right now, in real life, among US troops in the Carribbean.

Except in the movie, the demand kept the crime from happening.
