Downstate continues to be upset that the majority of funding goes to the area with the majority of people 🙄

Besides, didn’t this bill have a decent investment into downstate transit? Or did that get written out
Downstate folks upset about the share of funding that’d go to NE Illinois in the latest iteration of the transit bill, consider this: about 845,000 people rode CTA on an average day in 2024. That’s more than the population of every county in the state except Cook and DuPage.

christ that's so unspeakably sad. looks haunted
Abandoned ice cream carts, fruit, and taco stands. Trucks with broken windows left in the middle of the streets. It’s the new reality ICE has brought to our beautiful city. This taco stand appears to have been hit last night, 6/27 in South LA by Florence and Gramercy.

taking this moment, between the terrible supreme court opinions, the concentration camps, and the bill in the senate, to go on tour of cable news to trash the dem nominee for mayor of nyc, and to do it while lying about him and peddling in obvious islamophobic rhetoric…it’s truly black pilling

A democrat supermajority in Illinois legislature gets you: no housing, no clean energy, no transit. Like, Sierra Club agreed to support the bill that lifted the nuclear moratorium and it still didn't pass? Embarrassing

Should We Start Taking the Welfare of A.I. Seriously?
As artificial intelligence systems become smarter, one A.I. company is trying to figure out what to do if they become conscious.

If we extended one (1) bus route just one-half (1/2) mile we could take the ninth-busiest CTA bus route and create a new single-seat transfer point to O’Hare, Elgin, and even Antioch.

But that would involve our transit agencies actually working together.

this encapsulates what all of this administration is about. they aren’t “accidentally” destroying departments. they are intentionally destroying the government so they can become the government. the only issue they have with the system is they don’t profit from it or control it

My first and definitely last time working with the Los Angeles Times. Editing out the most urgent point of an OpEd in the minutes before sending to press while then also assigning a title and image that suggest an argument entirely opposite to the author’s clear intent is pretty shitty.

So, you're telling me that the Chairman of the Illinois Restaurant Association, who owns a south-facing condo near the top of a nearby tower, set up a 'grassroots' LLC to block a tower from obstructing his view?

And they hired Mike Madigan's son in law to do the dirty work?
We are going to crush this organization.
