My unpopular transit opinion is that buses shouldnt say things like “happy holidays” or “go sports team” on their headsigns (unless they’re not in service, and even then I should be able to see what route they are at an immediate glance)

Rode the bus today - there was a car parked in the front portion of every single bus stop (just behind the no parking sign) causing us to hang out into the intersection at every stop, causing issues for passengers getting on and off and delaying other drivers

Rereading the transit bill language, saw a provision I don’t think has been discussed much. It forces Metra to ditch its noncompete agreement with NICTD, meaning you could take South Shore trains for trips that start and end in Chicago. I suspect Rep. Buckner added it. @starlinechicago.bsky.social

Downstate continues to be upset that the majority of funding goes to the area with the majority of people 🙄

Downstate folks upset about the share of funding that’d go to NE Illinois in the latest iteration of the transit bill, consider this: about 845,000 people rode CTA on an average day in 2024. That’s more than the population of every county in the state except Cook and DuPage.

Love this city
It’s hard to convey just how much Chicagoans are mobilizing against ICE. Don’t want to downplay the harm, or make it seem like a fair fight. But in neighborhoods across this city, ICE is getting chased by people blowing whistles and shouting. People are running TOWARD ICE to protect their neighbors.
