Here is a video of a frozen creek that had begun to thaw, and the water was flowing beneath the thin ice on top. I took this because it was soothing and wonderfully bloopy and I wanted to listen to it for hours. You are all welcome to enjoy it, too. Let your brain settle here and rest for a moment.

A lot of people seem to be like "well he's not going to be convicted, so it's north worth charging him".

Sorry, you gotta put him in front of a jury. Arrest him, arraign him, try him. I don't care if it lowers your conviction rate or whatever.

Not even charging him sends a VERY wrong signal.

ICE agent Jonathan Ross, who shot and killed an unarmed civilian, flew a don't-tread-on-me Gadsden flag at his house, per the Daily Mail.

I first saw LAWRENCE OF ARABIA and GONE WITH THE WIND and BLADE RUNNER and, later, TITANIC (opening night!) on the enormous single screen of the Ciné Capri. Probably doomed to be a movie lover from there.

Road builders in Brazil dismantle ancient coastal middens in the 1940s-'50s. Random bones and artifacts sent to local museum, boxes stored for decades without being studied. Now, researchers finally look and discover oldest-known whale harpoons, pointing to Indigenous open-sea whaling 5000 yrs ago!
In a new study, researchers from @uab.cat claim people have been whaling for almost 5,000 years – and that the earliest evidence comes from the warm coastal waters of Brazil, not the Arctic. www.science.org/content/arti... @science.org

The scale of the protests in Iran are absolutely unbelievable. Hard to quantify, but I've seen some speculation that this uprising is more significant than the 2023 protests (themselves the largest challenge to the regime since it came into power in '79.)
