If you put bike lanes everywhere in the city, it stops being viewed as a symbol of gentrification. They stop becoming an "amenity" that brings better personal safety and higher quality of life. If one person said a new road with speed bumps would bring gentrification, they'd sound ridiculous.
And while your op-ed claims that locals oppose this project because of fear of gentrification, the reality is that almost all of the supporters at the weekly rallies live in Brighton Park or next-door communities, some of them lifelong residents. (5/X)

Today it was signal clearance given to a Linden-bound purple waiting at Jarvis which did not wait for the Howard-bound Red Line to pull in before departing so now we all get to wait 15 minutes for the next one. Unforced error to save at best, 45 seconds.
