After the law went into effect, we find that it produced a major boost in spending on streets/highway-related investment, adjusted for inflation.

But spending on non-streets/highway investment, like rail transit, flatlined. States & cities *reduced* spending on rail transit after the law passed.

I think it's a little silly that the 85 doesnt go up to the Edgebrook Metra station. Don't even need to add stops between, just do people the favor. The 84 makes a point in doing that.

The next two commentators are in favor of dedicated bus lanes but against bike lanes.

A "customer of Alliance Bakery" is upset with the MBJs plan to reduce Grand Ave's width instd of installing BRT, not supportive of curb-PBLs so she can buy big cakes and park her car on the curb. Bike lanes would be "dangerous" to cross. "Let's invest in Chicago and make the best birthday cakes."

Frequent commenter Patricia Fuente is here. Complaining about the Orange line has brown line signs sometimes and how elderly bus riders don't have time to sit before the bus moves again.

Note: It has not been communicated to her what the Brownage/Tiger train is.

Many public comments today. First, Roger Romanelli of Fulton Market, previously killed the Ashland BRT project.

Praises Grand bus route, asking for BRT on Grand from Ashland to Wells to grow development. Says CTA board is obstructing CDOT progress on it.

I love when nothing changes and then we try to tax individuals more becuase we can't be bothered to collect the revenue we're already supposed to be generating

No way. Thanks for sharing. Should be an interesting read

That's what I said. I was exploring how much revenue could be raised if driveway fees were increased but their data is so incomplete, who knows how much they're currently collecting. At best it's $1.74M which is if every permit was for a 500+ wide driveway
