Vibes are bleak. Try to take a deep breath, and then find something (small or big) that you can do to help someone who needs it

It’s hard to believe but the Auto Club family— mama Porsche & her now 7-month old kittens Ferrari, Mercedes, and Bentley— have had no applications. Not one for any of them. They’ve been growing up together in foster care, shy at first & needing a quiet home. Elkton, MD Apply crits4cats.petfinder.com

Ponazuril is very safe for even neonatal kittens who don’t have a strong immune system yet and also very compromised kittens who need a quick turnaround, so it’s our go-to for coccidia.
For Giardia, we also do the panacur + metro (only adding metro for stubborn giardia or bad diarrhea if needed)

You’re probably familiar with it by its equine use name, Marquis paste! It is off-label for cats still, but it actually kills the coccidia protozoa in a short course (5 days) whereas albon suppresses coccidia to let the cat’s own immune system fight it, but can take up to 20 days.

An unfortunate side effect of a huge parasite burden, poor sweet thing. I knew it would be bad from the size of his belly compared to his bony body.

We are treating for coccidia with ponazuril and will also treat for giardia, but don’t want to throw too much at him at once while he’s already so disrupted from the deworming. But we will cover all his bases!

Little Laguna is having a bit of a rough time, his little GI tract is not really happy with the amount of worms that are being dewormed from his belly. We’re throwing a bunch of probiotics at him hoping to help his tummy settle and firm up his BMs. He is still extra sweet even though he feels crummy

Momb sae… :

Thank you for everyone who donated to help cover the shots for our sweet girl so she will be cleared to go live in a foster home.
Still searching for a home for both of us; please boost this fundraiser so we can try to get an apt. It’s a big dream but we can do it

Get her ass (affectionately)!

Yes exactly. Kittens are born year round even this far north these days. The local neonate rescue already has some born Jan 1.

I didn’t see any other kittens at this colony yesterday despite knowing there were likely some born since the last time I was able to get out there. But it was very cold and grey, the weather will be better today and hopefully I’ll see if there’s any other kittens needing scooping while I TNR adults

We decided to name him Laguna— he is absolutely as sweet as I suspected, rolling over for belly rubs and purring up a storm this morning. He does seem to have an ear infection, so we will get him to a vet for some medicated drops for that, and he’s rail thin & full of worms, but those are easy fixes

He doesn’t really understand what has happened to him, just that his body is warm and his belly is full and someone is petting him nicely.

20 mins ago he was starving and freezing cold in a driveway!

Say hello to our first rescue of 2026, a very skinny little boy from the never-ending Final Fantasy colony. Unlike a lot of these FF colony kittens who have required a little bit of work by the time they are this old, he is apparently so relieved to be in a warm and friendly lap. Look at this boy!!

Our three Shakespearean ladies are doing amazing after just a few weeks with the wonderful @fluffandwobbles.bsky.social , who has a way with these shy types. No barn homes needed for these nice girls! Juliet is an absolute lap baby and Beatrice and Ophelia are continuing to be more sweet every day.
