Things I did recently: compiled a few drawing guides I made for myself into a physical thing i can tuck into my bag and dig out for reference when need be.

Photo of a page with notes on how to draw chibi characters. I am pretty tired, but to get the gist across: I have two styles of chibi character drawing: micro and nano. Micro chibis have more even but still exaggerated and simplified proportions. Nano chibis are very, very simple and have stout, bean-like forms to them. Hii I'm Julien, a freelance italian artist who works on illustrations, concepts and book covers with an intense love for dark fantasy themes! 🖤
"The great hunt". Illustration piece I did for Paul Scott Canavan's mentorship. It represents an haunt scene, the hunter is mounting a big white tiger with piercing white eyes -sign that she's blind- which is roaring as she's sprinting through the action. The hunter has heavy clothing on, inspired by the Mongolian and Slavic clothing. He has long black hair moved by the wind, and he's holding a sword in his hand, ready to defend his wood. The environment is a snowy wood, old trees and branches all around the scene, as the white snow covers them. The sun is setting, and the overall atmosphere looks pinkish, lightened by the lights of the time of the day. Pink, yellow and blue shading on the sky, as the clouds move, forming interesting shapes. Portrait illustration of an original character owned by client. The overall mood reminds the one of a renaissance painting, and the mood appears heavy. The character has white dreadlocks tied up in a clean hairstyle. He has dark skin and wears a light blue armour filled with golden details. He has a somber expression on his face, looking downwards as he's resigned to his fate, represented by the hands of his old father that is putting a bloody crown on his head. The crown is golden with lots of stones in it, and it's stained with blood representing the guilt and the violence of the kings action. Illustration I made for S.A. Harian's book Briardark. The scene is showing a young woman wearing a blue coat lost in an heavy atmospheric forest in which the trees tangles with each other and the roots are everywhere on the ground. The woman is sitting - knees down - on the grass, the look on her face seems scared and hurt while she tries to extract a glow arrow from her chest, dripping blood as she's looking at the viewer, terrified. Next to her, on the grass, there's a bloody knife almost hidden. Illustration I made for S.A. Harian's book Briardark. The image is showing a deer skull in a central composition, with songbirds on its horns. The songbirds are chirping and flying around, with white flowers and climbing plants intertwined around it.

Imperial Prince of Garlemald, Zenos yae Galvus, carries a velvet cushion of his father's head as an offering of his devotion and love to the apparition of Imperial Princess, Crow wir Galvus, who looms over him with an indifferent glower. Her long, cascading hair is swept up dramatically, her pallid flesh incandescent with perfection in his mind's eye. Something to pin, I think- a sampling of some of my favorite recent(ish) work!

I'm a character designer, except for when I'm an illustrator, which is all the times I'm not a teacher, and the rest of the time I'm...asleep ✨
An illustration of Martin The Warrior from the Redwall books- framed in a stone archway, crowned with a blooming rose. A javelin, ladle, and rabbit's mask are woven in to the thorny branches. In the distance we see fortress Marshank and the Sea Scarab approaching on the waves. In the margins, embroidered stoats and a leviathan are stiched into a tapestry. Several clowns! One unzips to reveal a crescent moon inside its head. One is robotic, with colorful baloons for fingers. Another is made of patchwork and filled with glowing light. The last is smiling, eyes on the bells of its hat, long trailing sleeves conceal confetti, flowers and a string of tied scarves. A character concept of Oca, an Ocarina Golem from Project Dragon aka Everhaven. It's body is terracotta and studded with holes like an ocarina, its arms are accordions that retract back inside the chest cavity. Wind chimes hang from its back. Wind spirits sit comfortably on its head, and play songs through its hollow chest An illustration of Mickey Mouse, Brave Little Tailor from Disney Lorcana. Mickey is dressed in fairy tale adventure regalia, scissors for a sword, ready for battle

Lantern with a design of a light house on it Character sheet of a character with tan skin, gold eyes with black sclera and black-gray wings, the sheet includes various poses, and an animal form - a bearded vulture. Design of a anthro deer character with hoof-like hands, various accessories and outfits.
