Wild that Fateh won the other 12 wards (narrowly) … but that and a dollar gets you four Aldi shopping carts.
Let's look at the cumulative vote margin in the final round of the 2025 Minneapolis mayoral race as one moves from the ward with largest absolute margin to the smallest. Ward 13's margin is a bit more than the citywide total. From there, it bobs around but largely cancels out.

Does anyone know if the mayoral campaigns are going out to collect their signs?

We can only judge from 53 unredistricted precincts (out of 136). Here’s a map: blue is where Frey’s 2025 final-ballot head-to-head percentage went UP. Red/orange/yellow is where his percentage went DOWN. Gray = redistricted precincts that can’t be compared. datawrapper.dwcdn.net/JmuW0/1/

@smith.senate.gov could you support Rand Paul's amendment that would strip Mitch McConnell's anti-hemp language from the legislation to reopen the government?
I would never ask anyone to support anything Paul does otherwise, but I like being employed.

All the Jazz Hampton & especially Dewayne Davis truthers will be disappointed. Fateh drove Frey’s vote total to 50% but no other candidate would get as close.
As others have mentioned, we now have the Cast Vote Record for the Minneapolis mayoral election. I'm going to be doing a good bit of digging into this, but I'll start with the big question: How would DeWayne Davis or Jazz Hampton have done in a final round against Jacob Frey?

Here's another view of the final-round 2025 Minneapolis mayor vote by ward. I've sorted from the ward with the largest absolute margin to the smallest. The ones in parentheses favored Fateh, those without parentheses favored Frey.

Final-round Mpls mayor ballots in. Short 🧵:
- Frey won 7 wards, Fateh 6
- Frey won the 5 votingest wards (excluding exhausted ballots) … over *60%* in each. Fateh won next 5 but basically didn’t matter at that point.
- All wards redistricted since ‘21. Still, Ward 6 went from 64% Frey to 72% Fateh!

One small reason Jacob Frey’s victory margin fell in 2025 compared to 2021 is 2025 turnout fell a bit in his strong areas (SW ward 13, far south central ward 11, NW north side ward 4) and rose in weakee ones (U-area Ward 2, south central Ward 8, Fateh-liking Ward 6) datawrapper.dwcdn.net/lIHhL/1/

I got totes kerboppled by #6 last night. Posting could be interesting this morning before coffee kicks in.
Also, I may want to amend my “best sandwich” post to include the leftover half of a day-old Bull’s Horn fried chicken sandwich I housed standing in front of the fridge at midnight last night.

For my upcoming Minneapolis mayoral numbers crunching, wondering if anyone knows where Somali-Minnesotan votes are concentrated? I know about 6-3 (Cedar-Riv) & 8-1 (Horn Towers) but I’m especially interested in the North Side and other distributions.

Built a formula off 1st choices to predict how Mpls wards will ultimately vote for mayor. Too many unknowns, so wonk amusement only:
Frey: 3, 4, 5, 7, 11, 12, 13
Fateh: 1, 2, 6, 8, 9, 10
Closest: north side W5 (52% Frey)
Progressive ward bummer: W12 (55% Frey)
North Korea number: W13 (74% Frey)

Who‘s gonna crunch the Minneapolis cast vote record moments after it’s emitted and give me precinct-by-precinct final-round totals to map? (I realize if you do the crunching you may also do the mapping, but I’d still like a crack at it!)

Hi Minnesotan Bluesky:
The DFL has a well-known transphobia problem. I'm organizing to change the party platform in 2026 to be explicitly supportive of trans people in Minnesota. This will provide a basis for expelling transphobia from our party.
