💸 You shouldn’t need to make six figures to buy a home — but in much of Minnesota, you do.
It’s time for the #mnleg to say #YesToHomes: make it easier to build more housing, end exclusionary zoning, and help Minnesotans find a stable place to call home. 🏡

In Minnesota, it now takes a six-figure income to buy a home
House prices in the state are rising faster than incomes, making homeownership — long a marker of middle class status — out of reach for many.

Some unofficial news: After talking with friends and neighbors about the type of bold progressive leadership needed to replace Mayor-Elect Kaohly Her in the House, I’ve decided to run in the special election to represent the residents of 64A. Look for a more formal announcement tomorrow. #mnleg

Go Beth!
I just filed with the Campaign Finance Board and am officially running in the special election to represent 64A in the Minnesota House! Conversations with friends and neighbors have convinced me that I can bring the bold, progressive leadership this district deserves to meet this moment.

The shutdown has caused real pain like delayed food support, canceled flights, and federal workers working without pay, etc. None of these are trivial.
The Senate Democrats should have ensured the sacrifice resulted in a win that concretely improves people’s lives, not just empty promises.

Yesterday's election results with such a strong showing for Dems and on progressive ballot questions are great news for our collective fight against authoritarianism. They show that voters are hungry for those with a vision where communities are protected and supported and we can all thrive.

THIS.
I've been saying this for many, many months.
This is a time for a new kind of politics.
We don't live in an Old World Two-Party system anymore.
"Reaching across the aisle" doesn't work so well.
It's fascism vs. democracy.
And you don't compromise with fascists.

I sincerely hope Democrats pay attention to tonight’s results across the country. They won’t learn anything but still. Maybe. People are excited by change and original campaigns and bold ideas and candidates under the age of 50!

Amen. The purpose of politics is to enact an agenda, not simply to get elected for the sake of doing so.
If you keep lowering your standards to “win” against the other side, eventually you’ll just be on the other side
