I will just keep repeating. I have never never never seen anything like this. 30 years of reporting.
Have a larger story on this coming, but I’ve been embedded with this group, and this story from yesterday is part of what they’ve been doing in the city: religionnews.com/2026/01/22/h...

✖️ No Work.

Minneapolis and Saint Paul have basically mobilized into a war economy of mutual aid and non-violent defense. I’ve never seen anything like it, even during Covid. People who barely vote are guarding their schools from ICE and doing the shopping for neighbors in hiding.
This is so smart. I’m so impressed with all the different ways you’re helping your neighbors.

Rest in peace Victor Manuel Diaz. He was a Latino immigrant kidnapped by ICE in Minneapolis. He died in ICE custody at Camp East Montana, Texas while facing deportation.

We have unjust immigration system that continues to take the lives of our neighbors while tearing families apart. 1/

So, like, if we get attacked by paratroopers, I really hope the rest of you know we tried our best. And I hope you impeach the motherfuckers who thought it was okay to even consider this.

In a just world even the consideration of an attack your own people should be grounds for impeachment.

I’ve never enjoyed watching someone get frostbite in realtime before, but that ungloved nazi influencer is absolutely pointlessly martyring himself to the weather, and I love to see it. Nature is healing itself.

Senator, please stop funding the bait, rather than lecturing your constituents about not taking it. Shut ICE down.

As a voter, my #1 issue is federal agents occupying our city to abduct people I love.

My affordability crisis is that I can’t afford to have a #2 issue because federal agents are violently occupying our city.

We can’t talk about grocery prices at gunpoint. Not abolishing ICE? Not getting my vote.
Schumer as a major American metro is being brutally occupied by Trump goons: "The affordability crisis will be our focus throughout 2026 because that's what the American people are demanding"

I assume “keeping the peace”involves disarming and detaining the ones doing the shooting… right!?
Sharing directly from MPD: Minneapolis police is only at the NE location to keep the peace - ICE did the shooting - please share this with community

The ICE shooting in Minneapolis shattered my Holocaust survivor father's' American dream
The fatal shooting of Renée Good in Minneapolis by an ICE agent has made the daughter of a Holocaust survivor see the U.S. differently.

Movie you’ve watched more than six times with a gif. Hard mode: no Stars (Wars nor Trek), LOTR, or Marvel, Disney Animated or Pixar.

Weird thing about the shift to streaming is the way some content can just vanish. If I had kept more of my old DVD collection, I could watch Soderbergh’s Kafka, but that film now seems to have been entirely memory-holed by the platforms.

You've just died. 6th picture in your gallery is what killed you.

I had thought the fog was eerie, and a little bit beautiful, but not dangerous. Beware, I guess!

If we had to hear “Baby Shark” everywhere we went for two whole months out of the year we’d throw a fit, right?

And rightfully so.

So tell me, why do we put up with it when the song is “Frosty the Snowman”?

It’s been a running joke in my house that every time I try to see the northern lights, something goes wrong. Clouds, bad timing, whatever. We literally go to a cabin on the “northern lights highway” and I’ve never managed to see them. Until tonight! They’re so beautiful! Finally!
