Recall a time when someone came to your aid, stood up for you, showed you an unexpected kindness. Hold on to those memories, for they are dear. Strive every day to make someone else feel the way you did in that moment.

Oops I see I have once again made the mistake of making a post and not literally accounting for every possible piece of nuance and additional context and the entire working history on the subject. I profoundly apologize that my post wasn't a PhD thesis I will now put a toaster in my bath

You can't just ban Tik Tok without creating educational programs for helping those people reintegrate into society. We have to teach them to talk normal again and stop saying stuff like "The way they cooked and ate my ass"

The reason so many 19th century novels really shine as audiobooks is because families reading aloud to each other at night *was* the entertainment of the 19th century.

Love how social media today is evenly split betwen "killing homeless people is heroic" and "that guy was merely threatening to kill everyone, why didn't somebody think of his wellbeing while restraining him?"
No sane takes to be seen

The most popular drinks in the world are just water with beans or leaves in it. If you want to be the next game changer in the global beverage field, consider boiling some of the other stupid shit around you and see what sticks.

i’m so sorry, i can’t hear you, i’m busy hanging out on the app where i get to listen to a bunch of scientists infodump about their special interests instead of the one where bigots “infodump” about why i shouldn’t be allowed to live

“Work fast and break things” is hot garbage.

The fact that this logic still so pervasive in tech companies, when the work we do affects the entire human population, is an embarrassment

I love when folks who read hard sci-fi forget that social sciences are also sciences and were often the most important area of exploration to the writers of their favorite classic sci-fi stories. Too often they're dazzled by technology but miss the probing of how society is changed by it.

A kind of relationship I would like to see more in fiction: two people who for very good reasons can’t be romantically involved, but who have a romantic emotional connection anyway, and they just manage it, without drama or hurt, and it makes them closer. Not will-they-won’t-they (they won’t).

what's that? constantly litigating and relitigating everyone's place on the ladder of oppression to figure out who is allowed to talk over each other isn't working out very well? that's crazy. no way
