Spite and shame. They feel like they've been looked down upon by people who they believe are living an undeservedly good life. The whole movement is social revenge.

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding, but one of the only ways to amend the constitution to create a federal abortion right IS through congress.

Given the current political climate, unless abortion access is enforced at a federal level, this is and will be an inevitable consequence. You either support abortion access at the federal level or you support women in poverty being forced to remain pregnant.

Why? What benefit is there in forcing girls and women to remain pregnant unless they're rich enough to travel for care?
