What’s worse is the sliding scale of who is “undeserving” constantly fluctuates. If you use drugs of any kind, you get nothing. You have too few or too many kids? Get nothing. Can’t work so much due to PTSD or injury? You get nothing. You got a fridge? You get nothing.
Isn’t it kind of fucked up that we have a system of governance that is utterly obsessed with punishing people who get public resources that don’t deserve them, to the point they’d make sure NOBODY got food stamps if someone bought soda pop with them?

i am once again saying that if you allow polling to define rights, you don't have any real rights at all
the problem with the "trans sports participation is a loser / 80-20 issue" framing is that it ignores how it got that way. it didn't just happen out of nowhere. It's been a 5+ year campaign by Republicans to make it an 80-20 issue, and noone fought back.

Interracial marriage did not cross 50% approval in the US until 1996, when I was 30 years old. Good political messaging drives opinion, it doesn't follow it.
