The same people who say taxpayer funded buses are unrealistic publish articles like this with a straight face. Incredible levels of cognitive dissonance.
“.. Skeptics believe the technical risks are being underestimated and say space-based data centers won’t be competitive on cost, especially if power and other constraints ease on the ground.”

the future of the democratic party is a coalition of the wokest people on tumblr and absolutely dead-eyed pursuers of the national interest and the maximization of GDP
funny that the two groups in the political class who have been the least enthusiastic about trump term 2 are like neocon blob guys and economists
I feel like the econ policy people have been less annoyingly centrist on Trump than the rest of the think tank ecosystem purely because the only concrete policy he’s pursued in two months are tariffs, which like none of them like

If it bothers people that much they can always learn another language! Take some personal responsibility for yourself, the languages you can speak are not an inherent trait!
Vance says it is "totally reasonable and acceptable" for people to not want to live next door to people who speak a different language than they do

Why does it always seem like the stupidest people are obsessed with IQ. I remember reading Elon's Hyperloop white paper and realizing he was not an intelligent person, reads like an overly enthusiastic high-school student paper. Now he's out here trying to prove he's not a dummy with mecha-hitler.
The Grokipedia entry on “race and intelligence” says that sub-Saharan African IQs average “around 70,” and are largely genetic in nature. It also cites Mankind Quarterly, a white nationalist pseudoscience journal.

I want this but for cars parked in bike lanes.
Texas can't adequately warn people about deadly floods, but it can immediately let me know that a cop got hurt 250 miles away from me.

Dems are anti-law n'order for suggesting cops that shoot unarmed children should lose their jobs, but Republicans are tough on crime because they pardoned the people that were convicted of assaulting cops that were defending the (Republican) vice president from being murdered. Cool..... cool....

There is a widespread sickness in American punditry where commentators cannot describe basic political realities because it sounds partisan, so they mischaracterize the positions of Democrats and Republicans to avoid appearing like they are taking a stand.
State a legitimate problem. Ignore ALL of the thought and work good faith actors (usually Dems/progressives/the left) have put into solving the problem. Credulously credit conservatives for caring about the problem (ignore ALL of the roadblocks they put up to solve the problem). Forever and ever.
As usual, the entire premise here is false. Left-leaning people talk constantly about how to improve government programs. Meanwhile, conservatives are not 'talking seriously' about improving efficiency, they are attempting to gut government services en masse.

I know it's popular to say an issue you care deeply about is the reason Trump won, but I really think the cost of housing (which has more to do with supply constraints than general inflation) is going to be one of the main reasons.
vital political priority to get blue states to stop refusing to build housing. not only giving up electoral college votes to the GOP but clearly pushing many people to the right

My hot take is in the coming years we should focus on resisting rightwing authoritarian foreign policy and domestic government stuff, but mostly let Trumps bad economic (i.e. tarrifs) ideas happen. Economies recover relatively quickly, but democracies not so much. I fear the reverse is more likely.

Eric Adams is amazing because when he won every media person was leaping over each to go “this is the normal sane leadership that the political left doesn’t understand normal sane Americans crave” and then every day since that Eric Adams has been like “Leprechauns are real and I’m going to cook one”

Between this and the additional closure between the GWB and Dyckman street the westside Greenway is essentially closed for the entire northern half of Manhattan for at least 6 months, with no alternative routes. RIP my commute.
