It just occurred to me that 47 will once again have unfettered access to all our Intel, including what goes back and forth to 5 eyes.
Omg. Our idiot electorate just put the entire Western world in Putin's lap.

Good news thread!!
being an indie bookseller in the helltimes has felt both very stable and very stabilizing, and part of me wishes everyone could be on my side of the counter for a little while, because I think it would help some of you be a little less cynical and doomy right now. so here is my VERY anecdotal data:

Have you reached the point where literally anything is better than marinating in the constant horrors of current existence by doomscrolling through bad news all day?

Good news! Taking a few minutes to do some dishes, pick up some clutter, or put away laundry qualifies as literally anything!

Guess we should have expected this re: Guilfoyle or however you spell her name. This is more embarrassing than having Abbott as governor, at least the latter is consistent.
Have I told you how impressed I am lately with Mark Kelly?

They did right up until it became politically unpalatable, Dec 7th 1941.

But it’s imp to know that without Pearl Harbor there was a growing American fascist movement that might have ended up in power if Japan hadn’t attacked us.

And they called themselves America First

I've been watching them since before last year's clutch didn't hatch. They are fascinating. So glad they are celebrities.

100%. NYT, we are SO on to you. Fuck off.
Yeah. This is why EVERYONE should've stopped reading their bullshit long ago.

They did this LITERALLY to drum up business by being able to print sensational stories about Trumpian chaos.

Fuck them all the way to hell and back.

100% agree with Patton.

Oh, and fuck all the way off, NYT. Dickwads.
Hey NYTimes — *now* you’re lighting the beacons? NOW?!? After months of “Sauron: Avatar Of Evil… Or Extreme Uniter?” thumbsucker reporting you’re screaming what we’ve known since 2015? Fuck all the way off.

On reading this, it occurs to me that Gaiman could have had an endless supply of WILLING partners for whatever his heart desired, no matter how depraved.

Which means what he really desired was UNWILLING partners.

Which means Neil Gaiman is a rapist.

Period.

I’m not sure what was worse: that Merrick Garland couldn’t bring himself to prosecute Trump on his own and felt he had to bring in a special counsel as cover, or that he waited so long to do it that Smith never got Trump inside a courtroom.

History won’t be forgiving to Garland.
Jack Smith resigns from DOJ
The special counsel's departure was disclosed in a court filing submitted Saturday afternoon to U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon.
