what I always sort of wonder is like - if these AI users are so confident in their tech, why bother expressing anger? just use it to write some absolutely banger story and prove people wrong.
...but I guess that'd require the ability to evaluate AI output rather than just accept it wholesale, lol.

Hard agree with this. I have friends with similar backgrounds and unfortunately similar experiences to Leah in the article. Often services that claim to 'support' or 'empower' autistic kids where I am at BEST infantilize and demean them, and at worst inflict years of unrecognised trauma.
The treatment of neurodivergent children can be hideous, and far from just a few isolated cases. There has to be a complete overhaul of the way neurodivergent children are treated, a change to the way neurodivergent adults are treated would also be nice.
