I know House as a TV show has problems because House the character was an abusive POS but one of the things that show highlights is learning and understanding is iterative.

Tried listening to David Remnick’s interview with Ezra Klein; could only stomach 15 mins, up until Klein posited Dems responded to Trump’s immigrant hatred by going super pro-immigrant & open borders, which is absurd. WOW. The lead plaintiff is a Latino man who's been here legally for 24 years. He was grabbed off the street by plainclothes federal agents who didn't even ASK about his status.

the guy I wish this site was more fixated on going after was Seth Moulton, a defiantly committed transphobe with an actual, personal fixation on the sports issue and has weak enough standing within the party that you might be able to successfully make an example out of him

my modest disagreement is that i think it is important to signal virtue even if, privately, you are a piece of shit. performing decency is an important part of maintaining the norm that decency is part of a well ordered society.
you are SUPPOSED to signal virtue. The actual argument, such as it exists, is that people are signaling virtue while not actually being virtuous. But you are supposed to signal virtue and BE VIRTUOUS.
Really was one of the dumbest and most harmful things possible for “virtue signaling” to become some kind of epithet. Sending externally visible signals that you are engaging in pro-social behavior is normal, natural, and good, it’s how society works. Other people can’t read your fucking mind.
