I 100% endorse this message. The spoiled votes are a 3rd or 4th order story in this election and disproportionate attention and airtime is a measure of the level of editorial discomfort with talking about Connolly’s success and FF/FG failure.
Catherine Connolly got more votes than any other president in history - any pol corr or commentator trying to convince you that the story is actually the spoiled votes is showing you their whole arse, and should be treated accordingly.

Really important fight back by the UK trans community & independent human rights bodies against the English Equalities & Human Rights Commission & its anti-Queer agenda. The EHRC is quite astonishingly anti-human rights & part of the far right’s ‘culture wars’ against LGBTQ ppl.
