I know all eyes are on Minneapolis, but there's a fast-approaching nightmare in Springfield, Ohio.

Trump is revoking protected status for tens of thousands of Haitians living there on Feb. 3.

Reportedly, on Feb. 4, 1000 ICE agents are arriving to remove this population. Ethnic cleansing.

Not de-escalation.
Since we published this, Pam Bondi's X account has started posting mugshots of Minnesotans arrested for impeding ICE/CBP. Sharing a defendant's photo publicly in this way is forbidden under DOJ rules
ICE and CBP are at the head of Trump's campaign to terrorize Minnesotans. But the Justice Department is not far behind.

You can chafe at people calling them the "secret police" or you can insist they stayed masked and anonymous while they take facial-rec photos of citizens. Can't do both
It's not quite the most pressing issue at the moment, but the American people absolutely have a right to know the names of the federal officials who shot and killed a man peacefully protesting, who was on his knees, prone in the street when they shot him in the back.

This is a serious argument that Democratic leaders across the country cannot dismiss. ICE has committed atrocities, extraordinary crimes, and was purposefully trained to act outside the law not within it. I don't know that it can be reformed. 8/

The officer who shot Alex worked for DHS for 8 years. The officer who shot Renee worked for DHS for over 10 years. Both are considered “highly trained.”

The problem isn’t "training." DHS was built to violate our rights and has been empowered to act with impunity. We must MELT ICE and dismantle DHS.

For any elected official who needs to hear this, I impart a lesson learned from the NFL:

When the other team is tired and on the back foot, you don’t call a timeout so they can catch their breath. You grind their fucking face into the dirt until the final whistle blows and you’ve won the game.

THIS. Strike while they're vulnerable.
The killing of Alex Pretti and the grotesque lying was an overreach by the administration. They've paid a price and had to pull back a bit. But it's when there's some disarray that the democratic opposition needs to intensify the offensive, and turn a marginal tactical success into a major victory.

Alarmingly an awful lot of people seem to share this basic worldview, where evil equals strength and therefore villains have access to power that good people do not. These people regard Miller as a genius uncabined by morality and have elevated him. Fortunately for us, they couldn’t be more wrong.

Lots of scrambling today by the terrible regime.

I want to argue that our goal should be to get Miller removed, that has to be the focus. Noem, Bovino, etc are all just middle managers. The architect of the terror regime is Miller.

A thread:

In my a new post I talk about how JD Vance and Stephen Miller have been responsible for the two biggest political disasters of Trump's second term so far - Greenland and Minnesota. Their "rules no longer apply to us" project is taking a huge, deserved hit.

The 2029 Pretti Good Act will establish a commission to identify all agents, create a detailed accounting of all acts, and hold criminally liable as necessary. Agents who voluntarily and truthfully disclose will be granted some leniency, provided their crimes did not include murder or torture.

Had Republicans had just stuck to hammering Democrats on fraud they would've had a potent political weapon. Instead they turned it into a hate campaign against Somalis and an orgy of violence against Minnesotans and now we're getting statements like this 👇
pretty wild statement re: Republican Chris Madel drop from race for MN governor:

"Saying he cannot support the national GOP's 'stated retribution on citizens of our state, nor can I count myself a member of a party that would do so."

The left/liberal majority in this country desperately wants a leader. Who will that be?
Really, have Schumer and Jeffries talked to one of the millions of “resist wine moms” (complimentary) recently?

The democratic base is ripshit.

We just had the biggest national protest day likely in the history of America.

This is great. For one thing, protesters are safer in the presence of National Guard soldiers by orders of magnitude. Second, the approach embraced by the Minnesota Army National Guard makes ICE and CBP look so incredibly small and weak.
Minnesota National Guard members have arrived at a federal building and were directed to distribute donuts, coffee, and hot chocolate to anti-ICE protesters. Guard members were issued reflective vests so they would not be mistaken for federal agents.

This is what Democrats in the Senate and the House can be doing right now: running defacto impeachment hearings.

Every Wed night, at Union Station, get people from Minneapolis on TV testifying about how Kristi Noem’s criminal and impeachable acts. Say “impeachment.” Have a TV producer run it.
For those saying Dems need the votes to start an impeachment inquiry:

No they do not. The Supreme Court won’t let Dem Congresses enforce subpoenas anyway, so there is functionally almost no difference between majority and minority for Dems.

Start informal inquiries now. Hear testimony from willing
