This is the biggest point. Most of us aren't looking for perfection. It's absolutely amazing to find studios/people who have refused to use it from the start, but it's also important to recognize and support when the ones that have used it listen and make the right changes.

I think that one of the reasons nerds hate Avatar so much is that it exists and is wildly successful pretty much entirely outside of The Discourse, and so is proof that the Age Of The Geek is not the dominant and enduring cultural epoch they want and believe it to be.
