It is EXTREMELY way past time for people to stop saying "the economy" when they mean "the stock market."

The stock market is fully divorced from reality. It does not represent anything meaningful about the actual standards of living.
one factor in the Harris loss was the Democratic party bragging about the great economy when it was actually complete garbage outside the artificially juiced stock market, and I don't expect that tactic to work any better for Trump esp with a much worse economy

The Brexit Benefit of small boat crossings.
If you can zoom in far enough, check out the heady days of 2018 before the Conservative government closed access to legal applications thereby *causing* a small boats problem. And today they’re (mainly Chris Philp) doing the media rounds telling Labour where they’re going wrong. #refugees #r4today

Argonaut is my local, and is the best bookshop I've ever been near. They're lovely people who care about what they do, know the tastes of their regulars, and have been nothing but supportive of me and my work. Waterstones can fuck right off.
Waterstones to open about 100m from Argonaut, a particularly nice indie bookshop. Quote from Waterstones management makes it sound like they got Argonaut mixed up with the gaming café next door.

Feels like it should be bigger news that a journalist known for being loud about her investigations into banks/payment processors appears to be getting financially stonewalled by the entire industry unaminously right now.
The full count as of today:

YouTube suspended
Twitch banned 3x
Patreon suspended (temporary)
Patreon 3x audio flags (one false posi)
Ko-fi suspended (indefinite?)
Buy Me a Coffee suspended
Vice reporting censored
Pornhub censored 3x times
Fansly censored 1x
Is it really a conspiracy to say Ana is being explicitly flagged by finance bros when she's now been banned (or censored) from Twitch, Patreon, Buy Me A Coffee, Ko-Fi, and *PornHub*??

Do you know who else confiscated jewellery, just south of Denmark…
The Sun has been told Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood will on Monday propose confiscating jewellery, watches, necklaces from asylum seekers to meet asylum costs

This reflects the most controversial aspect of the Danish scheme - the Jewellery Law. The toughest Labour MPs thought this was OTT

I think it's 100% cool and good that we have games that split power or even go GMless, but my very favorite thing in this space to do is to run a game in this fashion.
People accuse the imbalance of power of a strong GM role of being arrogant or unfair but a good GM will be learning what their players enjoy, giving them space to do their thing and pulling together a consensus of the reality of the game they are playing which is anything but selfish.

Yes. 100% this. Systems vs GM fiat is a framing I really dislike, both frame playing a game as a permission structure. Neither fully trust the player.

Some Sunday afternoon #rpg #ttrpg venting coming up:

I keep seeing people refer to any RPG with a clear division between GM roles and player roles as “Mother may I?” And I fucking hate it.

Using Golden Ticket to describe people who have fled war and destitution to legally seek asylum. An internationally recognized legal right that the UK is treaty bound to recognize is pure cruelty and evil. It is the language of Nazis, of deportations, of camps and life unworthy of life. Evil.

Some people really like to knock down older games and scenarios as “outdated” and not worth playing anymore, but I LIKE diving into old games the same way I like watching or rewatching old movies and series. We are able to consider historical context when dealing with a piece of art. Games too.
One time at GenCon, I had an amazing chat with one of the original MERP developers. Now this wasn’t Pete Fenlon who I spoke to (in a state of awe) the next year. I never got this fellow’s name, and it’s really bugged me ever since. And over time the convo with him and Pete F have sorta merged. 1/4
