A straightforwardly reasonable and good use of government power that nevertheless feels inconceivable in the US because we can’t fathom infringing on the freedom of people to get rich by making shit worse for everyone else

NEW: The first two years of Massachusetts' millionaire tax has raised $3 billion more than expected.

And rather than driving the rich away, IPS researchers found that the number of millionaires has *increased.*

So on Epstein, the Democratic position should be "Trump should resign." If you are a Democratic elected, practice saying "We demand the president's resignation" in front of a mirror as many times as it takes until the dry-heaving that comes from having a phobia about actually doing politics passes.

To tip the balance of power in the NYS Assembly from neoliberal Center to progressive Left, we must win ~7 more primaries.

IMO, our best pick-up opportunity within NYC this cycle lies in AD-54, where @cct4nyc.bsky.social is running to replace Dilan.

Thank you, Brooklyn! You helped us beat our day one fundraising goal in less than 24 hours. Together, we raised over $26,000 in donations free of fossil fuel, real estate, pro-genocide, and corporate money.

A truly odious person. Hardly a clearer case of someone who chose sycophancy to Trump over whatever principles she might have previously held.
Stefanik jumped on the pendulum as it was swinging to the right and now wants to run for governor as it swings back to the left. In New York, no less. Stuff like this may still help lock up the primary but it is going to be an anchor in a general.

In addition to any moral or competitive arguments,

1. This is a fake problem. There aren't any trans women in NWSL. There aren't any trans women in the immediate pipeline that I'm aware of.

2. Using Banda for the cover photo here is obviously just extremely racist.
Deeply disappointed in Liz Eddy here, who I've always liked and respected. A reminder that we have a lot of work to do when it comes to educating the public about why trans inclusion isn't just morally correct, but competitively sound share.google/Gjf9a1Sl01eL...

Very important speech by Mamdani on Islamophobia— starts about 27 minutes in.

This will get chopped up and reported on in bad faith (if at all) by fools and trolls, so it’s worth watching in full to hear him in his own words. A historic first for NYC. His tone is righteous and firm.
