was this the staffer again
Trump, in the middle of his latest unhinged Truth Social screed, claims that if Canada makes a trade deal with China, "the first thing China will do is terminate ALL Ice Hockey being played in Canada, and permanently eliminate The Stanley Cup."

One problem with vibe coding is that when you're not a coder you just don't know how to describe things when it's not quite right. You end up down a rabbit hole of breakage and then you just give up

A panican sounds like something you keep under the bed when you're worried you won't make it to the bathroom in time
The White House just sent a "Don't Panic" email. That'll do it

Never occurred to me that Australia would go with "capsicum spray" in this context
A protest against Israeli President Isaac Herzog’s visit is under way at Sydney’s Town Hall. Police have capsicum-sprayed dozens of protesters and members of the media as clashes turn increasingly violent. Live updates: shorturl.at/Wq8BD

Long answer..... also no

Incredibly, after 10 years in the US, 2026 will be the first time I have to file my own taxes. Can anyone (brit migrants in particular) recommend a newbie-friendly platform to get it done? My financial situation is not at all complicated.

I'm still struggling to get my head around the VAR decision against Liverpool yesterday. A red card for denial of a goalscoring opportunity surely no longer applies when the goal is scored.

This is good. Also, the more UK politics has come to mimic the US the more our little island struggles to cope. The UK is essentially one media market, and so when a scandal is afoot, it can dominate absolutely everything. Less so in the US when attention is so fragmented.

The good news is my appointment is covered by my health insurance, other than the flat $450 fee, a $25 co-pay, and a $100 shot. 👍

Super Bowl AI ad ranking:
3/ OpenAI. Niche product (Codex), seemed targeted to people who would already have heard of it anyway
2/ Anthropic. Funny! And a good bloody nose to a competitor
1/ Google. Only ad that bothered to offer up some good reasons to use the thing

You have to wonder if it's even possible to govern in our current information environment. The attention economy has turned the world upside down.
I mean, I accept that I'm an outlier here, but I don't think Starmer is terrible? He led Labour to a thumping majority nobody thought possible; they're delivering on some big things: ending the 2-kid limit, renting reforms, renationalising railways, employment rights; support for Ukraine ...
Anas Sarwar, leader of Labour in Scotland, has called for Starmer to quit in a sensational intervention.

Sarwar said in a speech that “the leadership in Downing St has to change” because the priority for Labour had to be removing the SNP administration in Edinburgh in May’s Holyrood elections.

Loaded the feed and the first lyrics I heard were “I just want to mow my lawn, clean my boots”.

Talk about two Americas. One is sexy, diverse, multilingual, energized. The other is whatever the hell that was on YouTube.
Now, now, I'm sure Kid Rock had something just as good...
