Government agents committed a barbaric, extrajudicial killing on an American street in front of witnesses whom they also harmed.

WHERE ARE OUR LEADERS? Why aren’t they standing, physically, w/ the brave citizens of Minneapolis? Any city may be next. Leaders should lead. At least follow the brave.

There's no compromise when it comes to funding concentration camps. Shut it all down.
Minibus is out. Democrats were able to include some guardrails in about ICE:
-restricts ICE to spending $3.8 billion of its annual budget
on detention as opposed to being able to spend $10 billion
-$20 million that must be used for body cameras 1/

Obama, Biden, and Clinton all embraced this notion that they had to appear “tough” on immigration and it helped to build this machine that the GOP is using to oppress and kill Americans.

Maybe the party ought to stop doing that shit.

Hate to point out the obvious here but if Democrats aren't even willing to support abolishing ICE imagine how receptive they'll be to abolishing, you know, anything else Trump passed through Congress, especially the stuff that included tax cuts.

The headline is the important part here but look at this:

"In 2000, China produced only one-third of the amount of electrical power that the United States did; by 2024, it produced nearly two and a half times U.S. levels."

Democrats need to say, right now, that Trump is out of his damn mind. More than half the country already senses this. Saying it will reinforce the notion that it's the normal person's response to Trump's obsessions, particularly the Greenland obsession. It's time to other Republicans for a change.

Correct.

Dems/patriots should be straight-up committed to abolishing ICE.

We must never again have masked, armed, untrained, unscreened, embittered rogue agents patrolling our streets, destroying civil order rather than trying to maintain it.

Empowered by 'Kavanaugh stop' and 'Roberts waiver.'
ICE must be abolished. It has become a lawless, rogue agency. Federal law enforcement agencies must follow the law, if they're going to have any credibility enforcing it.

We are demanding justice for Renee Good and the prosecution of ICE agent Jonathan Ross for her murder.

A video of ICE agents conducting door-to-door searches today in Minneapolis

The homeowner requests a warrant repeatedly, is told they don't require one, then is told they're getting it, then the agents storm in anyway

They also point a taser at her to try and disrupt filming

ICE is behaving exactly as was intended, doing the exact stuff Trump wanted, which is why it should never have been funded and the government should have stayed shut down.

Under international law, this is unambiguously a war of aggression. There is no plausible pretext of self-defense. The objective is transparently to topple the government, install a surrogate of US liking, and to seize Venezuela's natural resource reserves. It exudes contempt for law in all forms.

I read a book on making money in ancient Athens recently (by Michael Leese, it's great), and the Greeks absolutely believed that the endless pursuit of wealth was a serious moral defect and personality issue no different than being a drunk or sexual deviant.
If you make a billion dollars — or $500 million or even $100 million dollars — and you keep trying to make more, then there is something seriously wrong with you. It's a mental illness akin to hoarding or drug addiction.

it is actually kind of bananas how unitary executive theorists have taken a straightforward clause requiring the president to "faithfully execute the laws" and transformed it into a grant for the exercise of limitless unenumerated power.
The Take Care Clause was a byproduct of the lessons learned from the Glorious Revolution that the executive should not be able to dispense with the law promulgated by the legislature. It was not a constitutional provision to empower the executive branch— but to constrain it!

The current Supreme Court has forfeited all legitimacy.

Democrats (and everyone) need to address that reality.

John Roberts > Roger Taney.

Court needs to expand. And have fixed terms—like *every* other supreme court in developed world. And have ethics rules, like all normal organizations.

A planetary system feedback from DAC that I had not yet considered: If we manage to suck CO2 out of the atmosphere at an industrial scale, it would cause the CO2 in ocean and land sinks to flow back towards equilibrium and into the atmosphere. Hard to make progress against that tide.
More reasons why OVERSHOOT of 1.5 is a terrible idea:

"[Carbon] removal would set off a process of outgassing, from oceans and forests and other spheres: sinks would somersault into sources...the more that is removed, the more will be outgassed...lending this project, too, a Sisyphean character."

The coordinated nature of this—none are facing voters in 2026—means that either Schumer approved it or failed in his job as Senate Majority Leader to stop it.

Dems voting "no" get zero credit until they demand a change in leadership. Schumer out as Leader, Durbin out as Whip.
so currently defectors are:

Shaheen (Retiring)
Hasan (2028)
Fetterman (2028)
