We are disappointed that, due to legal pressure from transphobic campaign groups following the For Woman Scotland decision, two eminently reasonable quotas in our party's election regulations have been suspended. These suspensions are profoundly anti-queer, anti-trans and anti-feminist...

As we move into “foreigners are cancelling Christmas in the name of political correctness” season it’s worth remember that Christmas was indeed once banned in England, by Christians and the man who enforced the ban has a statue in his honour outside the Houses of Parliament.

The conflation of asylum seeker and illegal migrants isn't an accident.

UK Labour want everyone to know that their new asylum policies, inc stealing the valuables of asylum seekers, were inspired by the Danish Social Democrats.

In Denmark's local elections yesterday the Soc Dems took a hammering, losing Copenhagen for the first time in 122 years. The new mayor? Green.
👏 Congratulations to @sissemariewe.bsky.social who was just elected as the new mayor of Copenhagen.

💚Congratulations to all of the SF members re-elected or newly elected and for the incredible 17.9% of votes across the country.

🌻Denmark’s people and nature will have a Greener future.

On the other hand, I want to make the UK the most beautiful, safe & fair place on the planet where people live together in harmony supporting & nurturing each other and where poverty, war & prejudice become stories of the past.

I have a dream and that’s one thing regressive politics can’t take.
Yesterday the UK Home Secretary said in a TV interview, and I quote: "We want to make the UK a less attractive place for people to come." Job well done on that score, I'd say.
I don’t know what to say anymore other than to remind those in power that refugees are human beings with equal rights who, along with their children, deserve a safe, stable & integrated life in their communities and that what they’re breaking now with this performative cruelty can’t be fixed later.

America is never bouncing back in international esteem after Trump and the circumstances that allowed all of this. And rightfully so. This country is a daily litany of embarrassment and shame.

Another massive blow to climate action from the Scottish Government today. This time its also a huge backwards step for our efforts to tackle fuel poverty.

Its genuinely incredibly sad to see the Government trash its reputation as a climate leader like this.

To Kat's point, I have always said that the easiest thing to do in the face of reports of gendered violence is nothing. People desperately want to do nothing. And pushing them to do literally anything is seen as an attack.
It has always been so obvious that the backlash to MeToo isn’t about whether the abuse is happening but whether people are allowed to want it to stop

I’ve written a piece on the curious lack of media and political interest in the issues faced by our national @britishlibrary.bsky.social. This is strange given we live in a world where ideas, knowledge and research are a long-term source of innovation and insight

The British library is in crisis: why does nobody care?
The widespread indifference to the British Library's crippling cyberattack demonstrates a perilous failure to value the knowledge infrastructure vital for national prosperity

A Government of cowards.

Rather than tackle inequality - they've gone for pensioners, disabled people and now it's people fleeing war and persecution.

They can't get away with this.

The passion though. Which is totally justified! It's just something how rare it is to see passionate anger in the face of injustice from our political leaders.

Know we can’t keep doing a “boycott the Men’s World Cup” every four years - and a lot of people don’t care, they just want to support their MNTs - but… (and also, maybe boycott this one because it’s going to be stupidly expensive)
Gianni Infantino's at the White House (again) with Donald Trump, who just announced a visa prioritization process for the World Cup next summer

If you're going to confiscate jewellry and money from asylum seekers, it's a short hop to confiscating suitcases, hair and gold teeth.

(Of course, the worst historical irony is that Denmark was one of the few relatively safe places to be Jewish in Europe in 1944.)
Nigel Farage is actually quoted as saying that the Home Secretary ‘sounds like a Reform supporter’ with these horrible policies. She probably thinks that’s a good thing - most right minded people think it’s a disgrace.
Just wilful performative cruelty that is entirely out of step with the majority of British people.

How many Labour MPs got into politics in order to vote for stealing jewellery off of people seeking refuge from war and persecution?
