The Ta Nahesi-Coates interview with Ezra Klein lays it out so clearly.

One camp believes Democrats can't do anything unless they have power, thus every compromise to get power is acceptable. The other camp believes if you don't stick by principles, you won't do good with that power anyway.

One of the wisest things Ta-Nehisi Coates said in that Ezra Klein interview is sometimes we lose. It’s not a moral judgment or even evidence of strategic failure. Sometimes you lose. You can’t build a politics around “winning,” because 1) that’s not possible and 2) then you have no real values

Ta-Nehisi Coates telling Ezra Klein "welcome to Black history" has taken up permanent residence in my brain.

Notice Mamdani charmed Trump on live TV without backing down on any stances. He didn't water himself down, he didn't even take back calling Trump a fascist. Moderates would say butter him up, or try to appear more right-wing. Voters can see through that—and evidently so does he!

zohran is going to personally escort trump to a broadway show in his first month as mayor and immediately be given a blank check to reshape new york more than anyone since robert moses.

MAGA: "Ha ha ha ha! New York City just elected a socialist. We are going to turn Zohran Mamdani into the face of the Democratic Party, a bogeyman, and a weight around the necks of all Democrats! Stupid play, suckers!"

TRUMP: "Mamdani is wonderful. He's going to make a great mayor."

MAGA: "What???"

Zohran's basic linguistic competence and commitment to a non-neoliberal economic platform makes Democratic Party leadership look so incredibly bad. And they hate him for it.

i know everyone's trying to figure out the REAL reason trump loves zohran for the 5 seconds that he's going to love him, but the truest answer is that he loves winners and zohran is the 2002 tom brady of the political world right now

as long as you live in America there is no choice you can make that absolves you of moral responsibility for the American state, the only thing you can do is ensure that it behaves in the least unethical way possible

We're primarying John Fetterman.

Last week, Fetterman again sold out working Pennsylvanians. He was the deciding vote for a Republican budget bill that will strip healthcare from over 400,000 Pennsylvanians.

We deserve real working class leadership in the Senate, not a Trump-enabling Democrat.

This is great. @abdulelsayed.bsky.social is picking up endorsements from progressive Jewish and minority leaders across the state of Michigan.

Meanwhile, @mallorymcmorrow.bsky.social is picking up white moderate endorsements and paying Andrew Cuomo alum to fill her campaign staff.
I'm honored to earn the endorsement of former Congressman Andy Levin. Congressman Levin fought for Michigan's 9th district with courage and conviction. He’s a champion for working people, our environment, and human rights. Grateful for his support.

The next Dem administration has to take a sledgehammer to this Supreme Court. I don’t care if it’s court packing, ignoring orders, or whatever they have to do, they need to do it in the first 100 days. We can’t go on for 30 more years of this shit.
