I am so tired of 24 hour news about small boats. I simply don’t care how many migrants arrive in the UK any more. Apropos of nothing, I really do think UK journalists and politicians need some reminding that mass deportation of LEGAL immigrants, particularly those with permanent status, is far more extreme than even Trump's America and would basically place Britain completely on its own among democracies.

I see endless posts excoriating legacy media and institutional actors for staying on Twitter. They don't fully migrate because bluesky is viewed as too much of an echo chamber. It will never be a viable mainstream competitor so long as it only houses an insular slice of the body politic.
This site would actually be better if it had more voices from across the political spectrum, and efforts to push out right wing accounts are only entrenching Twitter/X's dominant position in the political discourse.
