If there's anything you get to do a lot of in America it's negotiating the price you pay for services. You have to be prepared to walk off the insurance lot and then the salesman will chase you with a better offer.
Trump: "I want the money to go into an account for people where they buy their own health insurance. It's so good. The insurance will be better. It'll cost less. Everybody is gonna be happy. They're gonna feel like entrepreneurs. They're actually able to go out & negotiate their own insurance"

eventually you may not remember a single bit of content this teacher presents to you son, but learning to trust your gut when responding to his vague direction and unclear expectations is a lesson that will last you a lifetime

individual Dem voters are expected to ignore their personal beliefs and interests in service of broader goals (i.e., "vote to protect democracy") while the people we've actually elected do not hold themselves to the same standard. this wasn't even the toughest fight they'll face and they folded
like this is basically it, the melts melted under pressure

Just a reminder that even if/when SNAP benefits start flowing again, the crisis for food banks will not be over. They'll still have low inventory and many SNAP recipients will also be stocking up on items. And then you add on the typical holiday rush. The need will continue to be great.

really hope people start to understand that Medicare for all wouldn't have been subject to things like states refusing to expand medicaid or the elimination of premium tax credits, while also implementing price controls in healthcare. ACA's complexity is its vulnerability

The fact that none of the 8 Dems are up for re-election in 2026 is a pretty good sign @schumer.senate.gov engineered the surrender

so Johnson will have to convene the House for the first time in two months. if he allows Grijalva to be sworn in he'll have a two vote margin to pass the CR and will also need to handle a discharge petition for the Epstein files. should be a fun week

if they were going to cave anyway they should’ve done it a week ago to spare SNAP recipients the agony.
