Funding absolutely matters.

Right-wing megafunders give money to groups that fight for what they want.

It’s that simple.

so my big takeaway that i haven't seen other people talking about regarding this is: what other documents are Actually Not Redacted?
This is perfect. The DOJ's embarrassing snafu with disappearing redactions was the fault of Elon Musk. Musk cancelled government subscriptions to Adobe programs that would have made the redactions permanent. What a pack of fools.

OH this group replied to an unrelated post of mine asking for mutual aid, and I declined to engage because I looked into them and could not find any groups local to them who were connected to them or could claim them. That’s my very loose metric for those requests.
this group is suspicious as hell & run by some right-wing asshat who posted "all lives matter" & anti-trans videos on the SAME facebook account in 2020 as the NOW official shelter page
www.dailydot.com/irl/black-tr...

mutual aid is important as hell, this is just a gross thing to do asshole

We shouldn’t be doomer defeatists about these things, but we also shouldn’t go in ignorant. These ICE thugs tearing families apart are more likely to remain in their jobs than be prosecuted based on everything we know about the Democratic Party.

Billionaires are considering cutting or reducing their ties to California by the end of the year because of a proposed ballot measure that could tax the state’s wealthiest residents.
A Wealth Tax Floated in California Has Billionaires Thinking of Leaving
It’s uncertain whether the proposal will reach the statewide ballot in November, but some billionaires like Peter Thiel and Larry Page may be unwilling to take the risk.

Others have noted this before, but it's ENRAGING to see corporations and bosses give this bullshit "A.i." trash FAR more leeway for error and general crappiness than they'd ever give any human creator.
I've started to see arguments that we have to get used to AI Slop coding even if it isn't great, because it's fast. Humans could go faster, too, if they're allowed to turn in stuff that only sometimes works. Such a fascinating double standard that will in no way come back to haunt, naw.

You know I'd love to have an adequate level of respect for the boundaries of female officers and whatnot, but I'm starting to be very done with this entire charade regarding which gender of officer should strip-search which gender of citizen, given that PIGS ARE THE ONES WITH POWER IN THE SITUATION
I hate that I cannot enjoy the bewildered and angry fashion in which these tragic cis organisations tie themselves in knots attempting to rewrite reality because they’re tying *us* in knots, too.
We are currently in discussion with the NPCC about their policy of strip searches of transitioned women (in which we are treated as men because of the SC ruling).

I'm going to just share with you exactly how incoherent the NPCC are, underlining just ONE tiny aspect of their response.

Would've been nice to have a robust atheist scene pushing back against this Christian nationalist bs.

Instead the major figureheads decided that reviving race science was more important -- and fearmongering about Muslims and trans people.
Trump is using Christmas to extend white Christian nationalism.
*Official messaging emphasizes "our Lord and savior"
*Trump ordered two additional federal holidays around Xmas
On top of:
*Encouraging proselytizing in workplace
*Seeking evidence of anti-Christian bias

American conservatism casually strangling American geopolitical and economic primacy in the bathtub because they’re just so goddamn stupid and racist lol
Striking nativist editorializing by the federal judge who just upheld the $100,000 tax on high-skill immigrants.

She opines that it’s “troubling” that universities hire talent from abroad at all, instead of only native grads.

Then admits (!) that opinion is irrelevant (So why write it? Venting?)
