I don’t think people quite understand that the occupation by ICE in the Twin Cities has more or less erased non-white people from public life. They cannot safely exist in any space accessible to the public and moving between private places leaves folks vulnerable to kidnapping by armed masked goons.

If you’re going to run for office in MN and aren’t going to call for Abolishing ICE, it’s going to get harder and harder for you. The kids who today are building snow walls to keep out ICE and drawing pictures of ICE defeating machines will soon be of voting age, and they’re not going to forget this

Josh Marshall really is one of the calmest, most thoughtful, & most reasoned writers/analysts out there. And he’s saying we need to abolish not only ICE, but the entire DHS: a “new and misguided creation.” My Mpls neighbors and I could not agree more
The Department of Homeland Security is one of those changes of government, a reaction to 9/11 interwoven with the militarization of American society caused by the Iraq War, that got us to this bad point. We should undo it, @joshtpm.bsky.social writes.
Abolish ICE? DHS Too. It’s Time

YES. Vastly fewer evictions should be happening at any rate, but given . . . this fucking nightmare there needs to be a total moratorium for the foreseeable future
No family should have to choose between keeping a roof over their heads and risking being permanently separated from their loved ones by masked ICE agents.

Minneapolis needs an immediate eviction mortarium to keep our neighbors in their homes and safe from ICE.

You and your wife drop your 6-year-old off at school. You just moved here. You see ICE terrorizing your new neighbors. You film them, as is your legal right. Your wife complies with orders. She is then shot in the head. You still have to pick up your child later today.

This could be you.

They LIE: It’s murder.

She was not a threat; no one was in danger. Multiple eyewitness videos confirm that.

This is an extrajudicial execution of a caring, nonviolent community member trying to protect her neighbors—period. Our tax dollars at work.
