Yes, it was just pure luck. I was in the right place at the right time. I actually ran back across the street to frame the shot as soon as I saw the light hitting the wall.

Old floor tiles at Le Blainville, 183 Rue St Denis, 75002. A fun little brasserie whose lunch menu has only 3 choices; fish, meat, or pasta of the day & they all are good, plus house wine.

Roller Shutters of Paris presents some interesting roller shutters demonstrating the range of approaches in painting & marking seen on the streets of Paris. I really like the triple shutter approach to the business facade.

This name is a reminder that at this location, the 260 Jewish students of the Saint-Gervais public school were deported during the Vel d'Hiv roundup 16 and July 17, 1942, then murdered in Nazi extermination camps.

Samuel Émile Adoner (born May 5, 1925 in the 12th arrondissement of Paris and died March 4, 2020 in the 13th arrondissement of Paris) was a Frenchman deported at the age of 17 with 7 members of his family by convoy no. 38, dated September 28, 1942, from the Drancy camp to Auschwitz.

The small vineyard, Clos Montmartre, in the 18th. They produce the only Parisian wine, yielding about 1500 1/2 liter bottles per year. More notable for the unique city location and 18th city hall basement winery than the quality.

Did you know? Paris provides free sparkling water for everyone. We fill up multiple bottles every week at our local fountain, it is just around the corner. There are 17 dispensing stations across Paris, see the blue dots on the map.

Thursday morning at 1°C/33°F, but a little chill in the air doesn't stop Parisians from gathering in 3rd spaces & enjoying morning coffee outside with their friends. Cities are for people.

I'll believe it when I see it. You betrayed the country with your vote last time to fund Trump's agenda, why should we trust you this time?

A Sunday brocante (flea market) in my neighborhood. Brocantes & vide greniers (garage sales) are scheduled each week all over Paris. Cars are removed & streets are closed. The updated schedule can be found here: www.paris.fr/pages/brocan...
