Dinner AND a show.

Internet Filth Wizard, inclusive feminist, meat potato.
She/her. Contains adult language and mature themes.
London is empty with old man.
I organised a lunch for my parents’ 70/75th with my lovely friend Harry (Masterchef Champion 2025!) and he brought along Hazel as well! Food was astonishingly good.

DOGE was created for data theft and infrastructure dismantling and it wildly succeeded on both counts within the first few weeks of its existence. It will take a generation to rebuild what it destroyed and the breach of data is unprecedented.
Bye bye, “DOGE”.

It no longer exists as a “centralized entity”, according to the Office of Personnel Management.

Have just realised I’ve left my AirPods where I was last weekend. Which tells you a lot about how often I’ve been outside this week #workworkwork

When I was homeless in 2019, the Salvation Army shelter refused to give me a bed (even though they were available), because I was on immunosuppressant meds and they didn’t want to be responsible or liable if I got more sick or died on premises. They’d rather I die on the street.
It’s dinner time for the police. Appears to be pizza from a Salvation Army van.

Broadview’s “free speech” curfew starts soon, at 6pm.

There were 93 homicides in London last year: population 9 million

In New York - population 8.5 million - there were
391.

London's homicide figure is 6 times lower than LA, 9 times lower than Miami, 17 times lower than Chicago.

And it's falling year on year despite the population increasing

In the Obama White House we were so careful to follow the rules, including about use of the seal (which is regulated by statute), that we ran a legal process just to see if we could use the seal for fun on our White House softball team tee shirts!

No joke. The team was called STOTUS.

The President should not be making personal for-profit business deals with the foreign leaders while he's supposed to be conducting foreign policy on behalf of the country.

This should not be a remotely controversial statement.
Saudi officials used President Trump’s state visit in May to pique his interest in a major real estate development, the latest example of Trump blending governance and family business, particularly in Persian Gulf countries. nyti.ms/4r7mboU

Ended today’s session by signing a short-term contract with Asmodeus (no souls or eternal torment involved) and also slipping him my number, as my Lawful Neutral wizard has both taste and a love of contract law. #d&d

It's a great cosmic joke that neurodivergence both runs in families and gets diagnosed based on parent reports. I was diagnosed at 30 because a man who has eaten potatoes every day for 57 years and a woman who collects loose buttons decided I was a perfectly normal child.

HOLY SHIT. They found the genes for fibromyalgia - and it's *not* autoimmune, it's the central nervous system. It's very cool to see some progress made on the thing that's ruined my life since late teenage years!
Medical Republic: 'Fibromyalgia finally gets a genetic fingerprint'

'Additionally, certain risk loci overlapped with long covid (BPTF) and ME/CFS (OLFM4, RABGAP1L/GPR52), two poorly characterised disorders, albeit with different lead variants.'

I really needed to get a lot of work done this week, and while I've definitely achieved some things, I have about 3 chunky pieces of work I should have done before buggering off on a long weekend.

This has been due to the chaos of having the kitchen painted.

My Tuesday is going to be manic.

This lil story has genuinely brought delight into my day:
Wholesome: For years my older brother and I swapped identical Borders gift cards for Christmas, wrapping them in increasingly elaborate and incongruous packaging, and saying “I love it!” when the inevitable prize was revealed. This made my mom feral, which only added to our joy.

This exact same reporter was ousted from the NY Times for soliciting a $30,000 donation from Epstein— and you're telling me that as an employer, the NY Times never bothered to circle back and review this person's correspondence with a convicted pedophile?

What the Epstein files show is the *solidarity* of many men-across class, race, religion, profession & party affiliation-in the global political project of keeping the boot on women's necks.

People have no problem understanding class solidarity among the rich. Why can't they see gender solidarity?
Like I dunno, maybe the reason it took a lady to break open the story of all the men protecting the dude trafficking underage girls is because the male journos were all emailing him making jokes about it?
